Are we called to share our faith in the marketplace? As less and less people attend church on Sundays we must be willing to take the church to them. As followers of Jesus we know where we will be spending eternity; but how about those we are working with? Who has God placed within our sphere of influence, and with whom has He given us divine appointments to encourage.

In Matthew chapter 9 Jesus tells his disciples "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field."

Jesus did not tell us in this verse that once He has gone to the cross there is nothing for us as His followers to do. Just the opposite, He tells us we need to go out and witness to those we come into contact with and make disciples of men. If we spend 40 to 50 hours a week in the marketplace wouldn't it make sense that we should have an impact for His kingdom there?

Approaching the marketplace as not solely a place to earn a living, but also as a mission field, may be how God is calling you to help fulfill the great commission.
